The Battle
The Objective : The Catholic forces are attempting to cross the Neile (it is fordable at all points) and destroy the Danish army.
The Outcome : Tilly regarded the flanks of the Danish army the weak points as the river could be avoided or crossed at these points. He sent detachments to the flanks and crossed the Neile at the bridge at Rohde. Units of Fuch’s cavalry counter-attacked and broke several Catholic units but failed to prevent the crossing. Failures in command resulted in other Danish units attacking across the Neile. Units began to engage all the way down the line. The Catholic forces began to push the Protestants back and eventually Christian’s force was smashed.
