General’s Profile

The different characteristics of generals can be brought out when players have more familiarity with the game. This extra layer of detail allows for the individual profile of generals to have a greater impact on the game.

Die Roll (2d6)

Personality

Description

2 – 3

Cowardly

Never attaches to units in combat, all units in formation Rally as if one grade worse.

4 – 5

Ancient

General moves at half speed, command range is halved.

6

Quarrelsome

Orders may not change until argued out with superiors. If the order is successfully received it takes an extra turn before it is acted upon.

7

Cautious

Downgrade order from Attack to Engage, Engage to Hold, Hold to Withdraw, when appropriate (see Effect on Orders table).

8

Foreign

Communication problems may lead to delayed or misinterpreted orders. Roll one extra d6 (not CP) when testing for the effect on orders sent (see Effect on Orders table).

9 – 10

Rash

Upgrade order from Advance to Attack, etc. when appropriate (see Effect on Orders table).

11 - 12

Erratic

Choose one option and roll again, the general alternated each turn between two personalities.

It is recommended that only subordinate generals are given a ‘personality’, players controlling CinC or senior generals can bring their own personality to the game.

3 – 5

6
