The club meets at Loughton C.I.U. Club, Station Road, Loughton, Essex between 18:30 and 23:00 on Thursday evenings. We have a regular turnout of between 6 and 15 regular members who play a wide and varied selection of historical tabletop and board games. We count among our members the authors of both popular rules sets "General de Brigade" and "Lace Wars". Periods include Ancients, Napoleonic's, Colonial, Renaissance, Marlborough, Franco Prussian, WWI, WWII, Naval (Napoleonic and WWII), Modern, Sci-Fi. Various scales from 2mm to 25mm.

LSF has no subscription but membership of the C.I.U. club is required, however this fee is partly met by LSF funds. There are no fees due for the first few visits. There are no age restrictions but under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

Loughton C.I.U. has full facilities including parking and two subsidised bars. It is 5 minutes walk from Loughton tube (Central line) and is fully served by local bus routes and 15 minutes drive from the M11.
